Your Visit to Beaconsfield Osteopathy

At your initial visit (up to 1 hour) a detailed case history will be taken including a full medical history, past and present lifestyle and the nature of your symptoms. Examination and treatment may include surrounding and related body areas as well as the actual site of discomfort, so you will normally be asked to undress to your underwear. Please wear something you feel comfortable in. Throughout the consultation you will be kept informed as to what is happening and why, please feel free to ask any questions.

Once a diagnosis has been established this will be explained together with the recommended osteopathic treatment approach if appropriate. You may be referred back to your GP for further investigations (eg. x-rays or blood tests) before osteopathic treatment can proceed.

The aim is that you to leave the clinic fully informed about your condition, treatment plan and recommended do's and don’ts.

Subsequent visits will usually last between 30-40 minutes where your progress will be discussed and the treatment plan reviewed if necessary.

Osteopathic treatment is tailored to each individual's needs to ensure the treatment is safe and comfortable for you. You may feel a little sore after treatment, but this will be explained together with post treatment advice.
